Shari is currently working on a new book for young people trying to square the violence we see in the media with the real life conflicts around us. She’d love to hear your views on the appeal of horror movies and the impact of video games.

What do you make of the gap between shoot 'em up play and the real world consequences of gang violence or war? Do you think first person shooter games are harmless techno toys, sophisticated skill builders or terrifying assassin-makers? Should there be content or age restrictions on games, movies or TV shows? Why or why not?

Governor General Michaëlle Jean recently presented Shari with a Persons Case medal for her social activism on behalf of women.
